Peter Corbett‘s brother Joe is down in New Orleans where he decided to shelter in place during Hurricane Gustav. They still have power and Internet access. So… He’s been posting video updates on YouTube.

Please keep Joe Corbett and all the folks still in New Orleans in your prayers. I can’t even imagine what they’re going through.
Thanks for your videos! Hope the levees continue to hold and you will be OK!
Looks like New Orleans lucked out on this one so far. My parents’ phone is still working, though they just lost power and have turned on a generator. Apparently cable went down, but is back up now as well. All is well with my family, and hope everyone else’s are safe.
Thank you, Joe, for the incredible video. The prayers of people all across the country are with you and all who are in the path of Gustav. Do post and let us know how everything turns out including the big tree.
Thanks for your concern everyone, things are fine in New Orleans. The city and state are working quickly to restore services and get life back on track. This is one of the few times I can say that I’m proud of the work my government has done, they have really done their best. I am however fearful of what might have happened if this storm were any bigger and/or closer to the fragile New Orleans Levees.
Joe, glad to hear that you’re okay! I hope everything goes well as people start to return to New Orleans.
